Privacy Policy
1. What we collect
- If you use Discrein without signing in: nothing is sent to our servers for storage. Your partner profile and conversation history live only in your browser's session storage and are deleted automatically when you close the tab or browser. A daily question count is kept in your browser's local storage to enforce the free-tier limit; it isn't tied to your identity and isn't sent anywhere.
- If you sign in with Google: we store your partner profile, the AI-generated communication profile, and your conversation history in our database, tied to your account. We receive your email address and basic profile info (name, avatar) from Google -- we don't request your phone number, government ID, or any other Google data.
2. How your messages are processed
When you send a message, it's sent to a third-party AI provider to generate a response, along with your partner profile and recent conversation context so the reply can be relevant. We don't control how long that provider retains request data on their end; check their own privacy policy for specifics. We do not use your conversations to train any AI model ourselves.
3. What we never ask for
- Your real name or the real name/identity of the person you're describing
- Your phone number
- Government-issued ID (e.g. Aadhaar)
- Access to your social media accounts
4. Data retention and deletion
- Anonymous sessions: deleted automatically when your browser tab/session ends.
- Signed-in accounts: delete your partner profile, conversation history, or entire account at any time from Settings.
- Accounts inactive for 90 days are scheduled for automatic deletion, with a reminder email sent beforehand.
5. Security
Signed-in data is stored behind row-level security, meaning your data is only ever readable by your own authenticated account, enforced at the database layer, not just in application code. No secrets or API keys are ever exposed to your browser.
6. Contact
Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to hello@discre.in.
